Sarah's Strudel or the OBX Octopus
This is my stunning sister Sarah. She is a Professional Tree-Hugger who lives in Hawaii. The Thanksgiving before she had her baby our family all met in North Carolina's Outerbanks and I got to henna her pregnant belly! We decided that the Octopus would be perfect for a Hawaiian baby. Here she is standing on the deck in front of the Atlantic.
Before the baby was born he was known simply as "Strudel", which I put on the design on the momma's left side. This picture also has a little Liquid Bling glitter to highlight it, as well as a swarovski crystal as the eye of the Octopus. Strudel has since turned into Lochlan, an incredible little red-headed pistol. These designs are all from my henna design book "Aegean".
I did the Octopus the first day, and it took along time so I stopped there. The next day I wanted to add more, so I added the kelp, the flying fish, and other little sea creatures. This picture is a great example of how the henna stain starts out light and matures to a darker color. Notice how the Octopus which had a ONE day head start on maturation is so much darker than the newer application. The magic of henna!
