Say NO! to Black Henna
Please, please, please never get a “Black Henna tattoo”. Henna only comes in one color: red-brown. “Black Henna” is NOT henna; it is a dangerous chemical called Para-phenylendiamine or PPD. PPD is the main ingredient in black hair dye and is not intended for use on skin. When PPD is used as “Black Henna” it is used at much higher concentrations than when used on hair. PPD can cause blistering and open sores on skin and can cause permanent scarring. PPD can sensitize the user to dyes and perfumes in the future. PPD is a transdermal toxin and potential carcinogen, which can lead to bladder cancer and other health risks.
Make sure any henna put on your skin is only beautiful, natural henna.
